Our direct client is hiring a Programmer I.

The Position:

The Programmer I is responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, maintaining, and decommissioning information systems. Responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Application Design & Development - Research, design, and develop applications to input, store, retrieve, and report data using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, VBA, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, XML, JSON and other development tools as recommended by the organization. This includes interviewing users to identify the scope of the applications, documenting, and flowcharting, integrating applications into network environment, testing the product before implementation, and writing necessary procedures.
  • Project Management - Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with analysts, supervisor, and clients. Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; prepare documentation of workflow, subject matter, programming language, and logic when necessary.
  • Servicing System - Create and maintain mission-critical scripts using Attachmate Reflection for IBM and VBA to streamline and automate screen-based transactions. The use of Reflection requires working knowledge of SQL as well as good familiarity with 3270 terminal emulation. Includes working with Business units for requirements definition, documentation, joint testing of functionality, and traceability of requirements.
  • Production Print- Provide timely and accurate technical support for high speed/high volume print, bar coding and inserting functions. Customize print jobs to meet regulatory requirements and efficiency/cost-focused objectives. Requires creative & detail-oriented mindset for optimizing the presentation of end-user products.
  • Cross Training - Participate in cross training to ensure departmental goals and objectives are completed. This includes providing training to other IT staff members on application development and processes, as well as receiving training on other IT responsibilities.
  • Communications - Provides regular and timely project status updates to management. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders. Effectively communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Technology Support - Achieve and maintain a current working knowledge of servicing technologies, application development standards and processes, data transmission standards and industry practices. Attend training courses, seminars and conferences designed to build knowledge of the same.
  • Other Duties as Assigned - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or division management

Top skills you need to have:

  • Must be able to obtain a 6C security clearance
  • A minimum of 2 years in technical design and development using scripting and SQL.
  • Experience with VBA, VB.Net, C#, and ASP.Net.
  • Experience performing script-oriented automation in screen-based environment (preferably 3270-related).
  • Desired experience with Attachmate - Reflection and Pitney Bowes - StreamWeaver application packages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Systems from a four year college or university.
