This is a Full Time W2 position, no subcontracting or C2C.
Overview:
DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Communications Senior Audio Engineer to join our client in Greenville, SC. The purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge, leadership and administrative processes as described below. This position has execution and oversight responsibilities for the production of standard sound/audio calculation documents based onmodeling, speech transmission index (STI) calculations, speaker data, STI distribution and heat maps utilizing Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers (EASE) software
Responsibilities:
- Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of advanced complexity
- Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clients
- Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures
- Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedule baselines
- Develop and review estimates, schedules and progress reports including effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
- Provide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittals
- Provide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changes.
- Provide technical direction, guidance and demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of the Emergency Communications System designs.
- 2D Riser Diagram development for Emergency Communications System equipment and field speaker designs.
- Field speaker circuiting, sequencing, and numbering.
- Provide database support for cabinets, panels, and field devices in a proprietary relational database.
- Cable Schedules and Equipment Lists.
- Clash Detection for Emergency Communications System components in 3D model and Navisworks.
- Checking, check the drawings and documents produced by others executing similar activities.
- Review and resolution of design documents comments.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Audio Engineering (or other qualifying engineering degrees) and minimum ten (10) years of practical related audio engineering practice
- Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards
- Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include proficiency in the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation applications
- CAD experience in 2D/3D Microstation, AutoCAD, or REvit
- Experience with Navisworks 3D model viewer a plus but not required
- Experience with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), IBC, ISA, and IEEE
- codes and standards
Discipline Specific Job Requirements:
- Execute Model Development and/or Import with Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers
- (EASE) versions 4.4 and 5 software application
- Execute speech transmission index (STI) calculations with the EASE software
- Export various reports from the EASE software, including speaker data, STI distribution and heat maps
- Produce standard calculation documents based on existing templates and including the exported EASE reports
- Serve as formal Checker, checking the reports and calculations of others executing similar activities
- Review and resolution of design documents comments
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience with audio STI analysis using the EASE software application
- Professional Engineer license a plus
- NICET Level II (or higher) certification in an applicable subfield a plus
- Proficiency with development of control-level schedules and progress reports
- Practical audio industrial design and field experience
- CAD experience in 2D/3D Microstation, AutoCAD or Revit a plus
